Meet sea grapes, a marine ingredient used to help skin feel soft and smooth.

What is green caviar?
Green caviar gets its name from the tiny, bead-like clusters that grow along its stems. Also known as sea grapes, this green seaweed is called Caulerpa lentillifera.
Its succulent texture has made it a familiar food in parts of Asia. In skincare, it’s prepared in forms that can be incorporated into cosmetic products. The green caviar oil we use is an oil-soluble ingredient that fits alongside the oils and butters in a formula.
What does it offer your skin?
Green caviar oil is used as a skin-conditioning ingredient, with the aim of helping skin feel softer and smoother. “Conditioning” describes something quite familiar: improving how skin feels to the touch.
For someone choosing skincare, that means paying attention to comfort and texture. Softness, a supple feel and a smooth finish are all qualities that conditioning ingredients can help a formulator work toward.
Green caviar oil plays a supporting role alongside the other ingredients in a product. The balance of the complete formula shapes how it spreads, how rich it feels and the finish it leaves on your skin.
Why the form matters
Seaweed ingredients aren’t all alike. Some are powders, some are water-based extracts, and others are oil-soluble ingredients. Their form influences how they can be used.
Green caviar oil can be incorporated into oil-based products such as balms, or into creams formulated to hold oil and water together. That flexibility gives it a place in different textures and routines.
A closer connection to your skincare
Getting to know an ingredient makes the label a little more meaningful. Behind the name “green caviar” is a distinctive seaweed and a practical skincare purpose: conditioning, with softness and smoothness in mind.
It’s one of the ways marine ingredients find a place in our everyday body-care formulas.
